HEIC to JPG Converter

Turn iPhone HEIC photos into JPG files that open everywhere. Pick or drop as many photos as you like; they are converted on your device and never uploaded.

Higher keeps more detail; lower makes smaller files. Changing it converts the files again.

Private by design. Your files never leave your device. The conversion runs inside your browser, so nothing is uploaded to a server and nothing is stored. JPG has no transparency, so transparent areas become white.

How to convert HEIC to JPG

  1. Choose your HEIC files, or drag and drop them onto the box. You can add many at once.
  2. Set the quality with the slider.
  3. Download each JPG with its button, or use Download all (.zip) when you converted several.

What is a HEIC file?

HEIC is the High Efficiency Image File Format that iPhones and iPads use for photos by default. It stores a photo in a smaller file than JPG at similar quality, but many Windows PCs, older apps and websites cannot open it. Converting to JPG gives you a file that works almost anywhere.

Stop your iPhone saving HEIC

To have new photos saved as JPG instead, open Settings → Camera → Formats and choose Most Compatible. To keep HEIC on the phone but get JPG when you copy photos to a computer, open Settings → Photos and under Transfer to Mac or PC choose Automatic. Photos you already took stay HEIC, which is what this converter is for.

Frequently asked questions

Are my images uploaded anywhere?

No. The converter is a web page that runs in your browser. Your files are read and converted on your own device and are never sent to a server.

Which quality should I choose?

The default of 92 keeps photos looking the same as the original in normal viewing. Lower values make smaller files; below about 70 you may start to see blocky edges in skies and other smooth areas.

Can I convert many HEIC photos at once?

Yes. Select or drop several files together. Each converted photo has its own download button, and once two or more are done you can download them all in one zip file. The only limit is your device’s memory.

What about Live Photos?

A Live Photo is a HEIC still plus a short video saved as a separate file. This converter turns the still photo into a JPG; the video part is not included.

Does the converted file keep the photo’s metadata?

No. The new file is drawn from the decoded pixels, so camera details, date taken and GPS location from the original are not copied into it. Keep the original if you need that information.
